Although it’s named the Jordan 5 Triple Black, this isn’t actually a monochromatic design. Take a closer look and you’ll notice a vibrant flash of red to the Air Unit in the heel. It’s this vibrant burst of colour which provides a subtle contrast to an otherwise tonal Jordan.
Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this hyped release. Is it a worthy cop, or do you prefer the lighter colourways which arrived earlier in the year?
The Jordan 5 first took flight in 1990, quickly gaining recognition for its lifestyle appeal and refined look. Inspired by the sleek lines of a fighter plane, this is one of few early Jumpman releases to still grab the attention of sneakerheads. It’s not surprising when you consider the ultra premium detailing throughout.
Now, the AJ5 returns in this luxurious jet black colourway. All the classic details make an appearance including a pleated tongue as well as pleated side panels. Jordan branding is debossed on the inner tongue and that chunky lace lock remains true to the original. As mentioned, it’s the visible Air Unit which offers a minor contrast.
The Jordan 5 Triple Black is scheduled to release on Saturday 8th July via the retailers listed.
